Volunteer Center Announces Departure of Executive Director

Effective January 31, 2017, the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Center of East Central Wisconsin announces Julia Drobeck has left the organization where she served as Executive Director for more than 20 years. As many of you know, her leadership was instrumental in the growth and development of programs such as RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), the Enterprising Nonprofits conference, the Human Race and many other initiatives. The Fox Valley and area nonprofits have benefited tremendously from Julia’s passion for volunteerism.

Please join us in wishing Julia every success in her future endeavors and acknowledging her considerable impact on the community.  While her involvement in our many events and projects will be missed, both Julia and the Board are looking forward to the new opportunities that change will bring. Julia comments, “After 21 years at the Center I am taking a sabbatical. People in education get a break, and after 21 years I am doing that and will begin to look for a new adventure closer to home in Suamico. I wish the Volunteer Center well and much success.”

We would like to assure you we will be working diligently to make the transition to new leadership as smooth as possible. We are committed to ensure this change will be seamless as it relates to all planned events and projects. With your help, we will work to strengthen and position the Volunteer Center for continued success.

The staff at the Volunteer Center is available to address questions related to current projects.  Please contact Cindy Wetzel, Board President with questions or concerns regarding the transition.  Cindy can be reached via email at wetzelc@fvtc.edu.
